How to make your perfect Mushroom Coffee Aeropress style

Here is my favorite aeropress method for mushroom coffee. Today we are using the freshly roasted lion's mane and chaga infused Mental Boost coffee. This method is called the reverse method in the aeropress world because you brew upside down and put the filter on last. This may seem counterintuitive but it makes it way harder to spill, and you do not have to worry about making a good plunger seal. Everyone has their preferred way but try this one out! 

Couple notes here you do not want boiling water. If you don't have a fancy temperature controlled kettle just set it to boil, and then leave it for a minute or two before brewing. The slightly cooler water means you will extract a lot less of the bitter flavors from the coffee. This really pays off with a sweeter fresher tasting cup. 

If you are striving for perfection wash your paper filter before you brew. Also use fresh coffee like we are here. If your coffee is old and dried out you are not going to get that perfect cup. I only buy coffees that have a roasted date printed on them not a best before.
